Sheng Life paves the way for Melaka to be wellness hub

Adding a wellness component to property creates a bigger appeal to both international and domestic buyers, says Sheng Life Group COO, Vincent Wan.

Medical and wellness tourism is a sunshine industry for Malaysia, says Vincent Wan, Group Chief Operating Officer of Sheng Life International, the healthcare division of Sheng Tai International Sdn Bhd, a property tourism specialist. Wan adds the division has several projects lined up to be launched next year as they anticipate the return of many tourists by next year.

“Since our borders reopened in April 2022, international medical tourists from Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh, among others, have started arriving in Malaysia. I believe by 2023, the full wave of international patients will come,” he projects. To tap into the overseas market, Sheng Life will work closely with the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), a government agency promoting Malaysian medical tourism overseas, among other initiatives.

Sheng Life Wellness Centre offers a holistic approach and regenerative medicine supported by experienced and qualified doctors and nurses, as well as reputable and established partners in the healthcare industry.

Among the services offered are preventive medicine and anti-aging, which includes health screening, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), aesthetics, rejuvenation and regenerative medicine (stem cell), physiotherapy, and Assisted Reproductive Technique (ART) or commonly known as IVF, as well as supplements for health and beauty.

The wellness centre will be opened in Q2 2023 in Melaka while the Kuala Lumpur centre is expected to be opened next year too. The Melaka centre will kick off in MetraSquare, Ayer Keroh while a similar but bigger premises will open at The Sail Melaka’s Wellness Centre Tower once it’s completed. The Sail Melaka is Sheng Tai International’s flagship development comprising a nine-tower mixed development project overlooking the Straits of Melaka with expected GDV of more than RM6 billion.

All the services are open to the public although a membership plan will eventually be available. Patients’ elderly parents could also make use of the Golden Age Resort which offers the la test and most sophisticated facilities for the elderly.

Among the Wellness Centre’s facilities that stand out are the rest and relax facilities where patients can watch a movie or have a reflexology session while waiting for their screening results which typically take a bout three hours.

Unparalleled Quality
The partner of the rejuvenation and regenerative medicine (stem cell) provides three-generational screened stem cells and is Syariah-compliant and under the purview of Ministry of Health, Malaysia.

Says an enthusiastic Vincent, “We are entering a new era where we combine property and wellness into a bundle. This has proven a successful model in attracting international clients to Malaysia from China, Indonesia, Japan and the Middle East. They love to come to Malaysia, not only for the food, scenery and activities but also for medical and wellness tourism. And while they are here, they sometimes decide to stay longer or even settle down or invest here. This is where Sheng Tai International’ s property offers are geared towards them – they can get what they need in one place. And Melaka is especially unique in this aspect because it is a compact and easily navigable city which attracts tourists from around the world. Not only is Melaka a historical city, but in time to come, it will be a fashion and wellness hub.” APR
