Springtime Surprise

Spring is here and where best to spend it than at the highlands – Genting Highlands is the coolest antidote for Malaysia’s hot and humid weather due to its serene natural beauty and perfect temperature (sans the crowds).

You would be forgiven for thinking that this is a destination outside of Malaysia. It sure looks like one and with a pleasant weather averaging 21C in the daytime, this springtime destination normally attracts hordes of visitors during pre-
pandemic times.
However, during the past one year, the lockdown in its various iterations has revealed another side of Genting Highlands which is often overlooked by visitors – its natural beauty encompassing lush temperate greenery with panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur.
It’s a nature paradise and at an elevation of 1,865m, a hiker’s dream climate compared to the lowland’s hot and humid conditions.

Let’s hope the many new developments including a new hotel about 100m away from Genting Ria apartment and the many new condominiums in the Midhills area near Gohtong Jaya will not affect its natural beauty in the long run. Keeping the built environment to a minimum will certainly be key to maintaining its serene surroundings.
