Marga Landmark was a standout at the glittering awards ceremony held at Sedona Hotel, late June in Yangon. It made a clean sweep at the third Myanmar Property Awards organised by PropertyGuru, winning in all the categories for which it was nominated, in addition to collecting a Special Recognition in Corporate Social Responsibility.
It also walked away with the Best Developer award – for its “innovative, world-class projects such as The Central mixeduse development,” said the independent judging panel which also commended the company for excelling in many ways, from project design and planning, to construction and delivery of luxury real estate that aims to contribute to the country’s economic progress.
Its Central project won awards for the Best Condo Development, Best Retail Development, Best Mixed Use Development, and Best Universal Design Development (sustainable design that caters universally for all). Other award winners included IME Property, developer of The Leaf Residence; Myanmar Seilone for its RESIDENCE@26 (Best Serviced Apartment Development); MAEX (Member of the Dagon Group of Companies) for its Danyingone Fruits, Vegetables & Flowers Wholesale Market (Best Special Commercial Development) and Royal Sky Company Limited for its Dagon Golf City (Best Golf Development).
Chairman of the judging panel, Richard Emerson, managing director of Emerson Real Estate said: “Serviced apartments in Yangon have maintained high occupancy levels and some of the highest room rates in the region, demonstrating the strong demand from corporate occupiers.”
“Despite the difficulties in this transition period, Myanmar remains a bright prospect for the future. With the government continuing to open up the economy and encourage both foreign and local investment, the market shows strong fundamentals, and there is an inherent need to modernise and improve the country’s real estate and infrastructure to keep pace with the country’s growth.”
Nearly 300 guests and VIPs from various fields such as construction, design, banking and legal attended the fourcourse gala dinner that accompanied the awards ceremony.
