Paving The Way To Global Recognition

The Methodist College Kuala Lumpur recently celebrated the Cambridge A Level (CAL) and Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) students who achieved various awards for the CAL Novembe 2020 exam series and AUSMAT ATAR 2020 examinations via an inaugural virtual awards ceremony.
Notably, students in the CAL November 2020 examination series achieved a 100% passing rate with 55% of the students scoring 3As and above — breaking all previous records. As for the AUSMAT programme, 33% of students obtained ATAR 80 and above scores with the highest score being 98.95 — placing them among the top 20% of high scorers in Australia.
“Over the years, MCKL students have been no stranger to the Excellence Awards, Outstanding Scholars’ Awards and also emerging as Subject Prize winners. Amidst the pandemic and the swift implementation of hybrid learning, MCKL continues to succeed beyond its previous achievements — making 2020 a year to remember” says Ms Angela Pok, Chief Exeutive Officer of MCKL.
The five awardees this year comprise three Overall Academic Excellence recipients for CAL — Eng Wai Lam Simpson (Combination of Science and Arts), Low Swee Ling (Pure Science) and Chia Zhi Ling (Pure Arts along with two Excellence Awards for CGPA 370 and above recpients from AUSMAT —Mandy Lai Pui Mun and Eunice Ling Sue Ann. Simpson Eng also received the prestigious Yim Kam Yoke Award while Mandy La was named the recipient of the Datuk F R Bhupalan Award 2020.
