For the visitor, being able to catch the National Day Parade (NDP) 2023 on 9 August would be a stroke of luck. If not, you could catch the rehearsals on six Saturdays in June and July prior to the actual day. I was lucky enough to catch one of the rehearsals in July. Although I didn’t see everything, it was quite a spectacular show, the fighter jets aerial display or flypast being the highlight.
It was also fun to watch several uniformed contingents doing their march past. Even more interesting was how the locals set up picnics at the grounds in front of Victoria Concert Hall while waiting for the parades and flypast.
The finale fireworks was great but not spectacular. For the visitor though, it’s a memorable experience.
