CHINESE PROPERTY REALTY TV SHOW STARTS SHOOTING

Through an innovative TV show, Malaysian property consultant Dato’ Sri Gavin Tee is hoping to share with the world the intricacies of property investment. Part-educational and part-entertainment, the show, “Anyone Can be A Property Millionaire” is modelled after a reality show with Tee as the mentor and host, and a panel of judges evaluating each contestant.
Auditions were held since last year and eight finalists were chosen on 25thJune 2017. The finalists come from all walks of life and will be exposed to the entire buying process – from selection, to the legal and tax aspects – on their road towards real estate riches.
Top experts in the property industry will be invited to give their expert opinion during the show. They include Elizabeth Siew (Legal Adviser), Chris Tan (Investment Legal Expert), Frank Scott Hew (Architect/Interior Designer), Master Sandy Paw (Feng Shui Master), Koong Ling Long (Tax Expert), and Agnes Wong (Tax Expert).
The eight finalists are Danny Tan (The Disabled), Dr Kenneth Lee (The Professional), Sam Huang (The Foreigner), Ng Wee Kwong (The Real Estate Investor), Tan Guat Ha (The Retiree), Hong Onn (The Young Graduate), Shann Khoo (The Single Mother) and Amber Chia (The Celebrity).
Amber Chia, a Malaysian celebrity model, joked that she’s agreed to be in the show because she would like to one day drive the same type of car as Tee (a sportscar). Meanwhile, Sam Huang, a Taiwanese real estate agent, who is a MM2H (Malaysia My 2nd Home) resident in Malaysia, said he’s very confident of Malaysia’s real estate outlook despite the current sluggishness. “The weak ringgit is a boon to us foreigners, as we get an immediate 30% discount (due to ringgit depreciation) the moment we make a purchase here,” he told Asian Property Review.
Hong Onn, a young lawyer, said she likes to meet all types of people and is very interested to see how real estate can earn her millions. Designed by Tee, the reality show is the first-of-itskind Chinese property reality TV show in Malaysia, and possibly the region. It has officially commenced shooting following the pre-shooting ceremony held at Parkroyal Hotel in Kuala Lumpur early October. The show will be aired next year on Malaysia’s TV station Astro AEC 301/306. Meanwhile, the show is still open for sponsorship.
